Sydney + Uluru
Hello Everyone!
So my French exchange student called Armand arrived last Monday so we decided to take him on a little Australian adventure. We went to Sydney first for a few days where we went to Manly and checked out the modern art museum, it was good but their permanent exhibition was a bit hit and miss with some very amateur work.
We also had dinner at Quay whilst we were in Sydney and I finally got to eat a snow egg! The food was lovely but they strung out the meal for 3 and a half hours! It was 11:30 before we left and we were one of the last ones there, not sure if I would go back.
We then flew to Uluru where we became tourists and walked around the huge rock and rode camels. We didn't climb though as I am strongly against it as it is extremely disrespectful to Aboriginals. We participated in the Sounds of Silence dinner whilst we were there, considering how talked up it is I was expecting a magnificent night but we were given a pretty bland buffet and it didn't feel like the wait staff really wanted to be there. If you're thinking about going to Uluru or going to this dinner I would say give it a miss, it's not a crucial aspect to your experience.
All in all the holidays were lovely and I'm not happy to be back at school :(
Stay Fab
